Don't know when this Photo was taken.
I found the Photo in a box of Photos' belonging to my mother. Written on the back of the photo is 'Captain Sinclair',who I knew well later on in years as the father of the Sinclair boys, namely Donald, Billy and Ian. Captain Sinclair was in charge of the North of Scotland Shipping Co. in Kirkwall and latterly Kirkwall Harbour Master. He was also Captain of the Sea Cadets who had the M.V.Bounty.
I often went fishing with the boys on the Bounty in the evenings and it was always eventful, namely breaking down, or jamming in gear when coming into the Basin near the Pier - one of the boys ran doon below and hit the gear lever with an iron bar. The boys also had the ability to get her start again. I think the engine was a Kelvin Poppet,15-30hp. Captain Billy still lives in Orkney after an illustrious career in the Merchant Navy.
