I was a gey peedie boy right enough, I forgot tae say the teacher was Mrs Sandison. She went south to be with her daughter who was blind. Sad to say some of the pupils in that photo are no longer with us. Keep the photos coming, good tae see the old Westray folk.

Evelyn if you look under my name in the contributors section there is a photograph of all the school. I think it was taken at the same time.

I wonder if the Kathleen Stevenson in this photo is my relative. Hope to meet soon as we are coming over at end of May for the folk festival. Also wonder if you Bill are related to Karen Drever, OT in Dumfries area who I know well and bumped into last week?

Anybody heard of W.B. Rendall, who Captain James Learmont in his book " Master In Sail " describes as the best navigator he ever met?
Learmont and Rendall served as A.B.s in the barque
" Strathdon" on a voyage to Australia in 1898. Rendall had a 2nd. mates ticket, but was sailing in thr Fo'castle owing to the lack of jobs.
