The Lady standing on the extreme left is the late Mrs Gordon Keldie. Her son is also called Gordon and her late nephews were Evan and Colin MacGillivray.

My thanks to all who have responded so far. I always had doubts about giving the name alie Windwick All I was sure about was he was a Windwick. Any one remember Mrs Gordon Keldies christian name and maiden surname?

Was Stan Jamieson the manager of Boots chemists at one time? I thought his name was Stanley Main?We are geting there.Keep it up!Anyone know Mrs Swanney maiden name?

As a former member of the staff of Boots,Chemists,Kirkwall, I can confirm that Mr Stanley Main was indeed manager of that shop.
In fact, if memory serves me correctly, I believe he was manager on two different occasions.
I guess anonymous above must have his/her facts all wrong.

I've just traced my great aunt to the Orkney islands. She is Nellie Elizabeth Mann (nee Hampson) in the photo. The family resemblance is striking, She married Harold James Mann in Yokohama Japan in the 1930s. She was an overseas nurse.
