Ironically disbanded Stronsay Coastguard

The disbanded Stronsay Coastguard Unit having been presented with Valedictory Certificates on 13th December, 2009, to thank them for the invaluable service carried out by them, but no longer necessary. Apparently it is much better, in the interests of health and safety, for the Stronsay shoreline to be covered by Westray or Kirkwall coastguards, and alleviate "Corporate Risk" ? Maks you winder eh !! Pictured from the left are Gary Dennison - 5 years service, Ian Cooper - 31 years, Kenny Shearer - 29 years, Don Peace - 42 years, and Patrick Shearer - 29 years.
