Orcadia at Eday

Len Garson's picture of the Sandygeos prompted me to send in two very old photos taken near the Sandygeos.....122yrs ago.

[This one] is of a small boat rowing ashore from the old SS.Orcadia. Instead of calling at Eday pier the Orcadia stopped in Calfsound certain days of the week, unloading passengers and cargo on to this boat which at that time belonged to my great grandfather, Charlie Peace. He's the one on the starboard oar. Robbie Groat is on the port oar. The passenger wearing the black hat is the Rev. James Ingram MA. minister of Eday United Presbyterian Church. I don't know the other gent.
