Kirkwall harbour. Picture probably taken in early 1960s. A few small boats but nameless unfortunately. Looks a lovely evening.

The yacht with sails raised in the background looks remarkably like the Naughty Girl before she was owned by Dan Kirkpatrick and converted to a motorboat.

On the left of the picture, the stern of another yacht can be seen. That's Barabel, owned by John Laughton. The open top white hulled boat moored astern of Barabel belonged to Billy Jolly.

I think the motor boat behind Billy Jolly's motor boat was owned by McDonald the chiropodist father of Christine.
