This revolving gate to The Willows, Kirkwall, has been there as long as I can remember.

Been there since before 1950.....the concrete bridge in the picture replaced a old wooden one made from wood poles like telegraph ones with flat planks to walk on and a single pole hand rail in one side.

I see it's still there, hope it's staying,it must be made with proper steel.I heard it squeeking the other day and reminded me of going across the willows to Billys for bubblys or a lucky bag.

I imagine there was an outcry when they replaced the old wooden bridge!
