I dont ken whar Shearer's bike is now but I used to be a message boy there for a few years. Probably the last to use the old bike around the toon I doubt.

William Shearer's old message bike now lives with Irvine Wood in Rendall. Best place for it!

We had these barrows at Liptons Ltd to wheel crates of cheese, sides of bacon, sacks of cereals and many other items. I also remember going out on the message bike with loads of baskets and boxes filled with groceries. Getting the balance just right was a problem sometimes !!
