Something that changed naval history

This is a picture of something that changed naval history. It is a picture of the turbine on the German destroyer B98. In 1911 the Germans built the destroyer Novik for the Russians and there were more on order. When the first world war was on the horizon the Germans deceided to seize and use the larger turbines for a new, larger class of destroyers so starting another arms race.
