Whassigo - don't you mean "one four". I might be wrong but I thought that "one nine" was the call in channel for the old ILLEGAL cb sets. (Low Flyer)(GM6VQZ)

You're right Sandy - 19 was the breaking channel for the old illegal 27 MHz sets. As an old die hard chicken box fanatic - I never made the "leap" to underpowered 27 MHz FM legal transmitters in the early eighties. A few of us continued with the old sets but by 1984 the scene had practically disappeared. Great times though - I just remember staying up till all hours yacking to folk I hardly knew (wait a minute - isn't that what I do now ???)
