This is a picture my grandparents but it is more likely to be 1950 or slightly before.

Tam o' the mill, as my father called him, was my father's uncle from Quoylet in Westray. His mother was a Paterson from Dogtoo, I believe, hence his middle name.

Tam o' the Mill was indeed Thomas Paterson Harcus of Quoylet, Westray. His parents were George Harcus of Dogtoo, Westray and Betsy Paterson of Tifter, Westray. Betsy was the sister of my great grandmother.
