This looks like it was taken after Woolies was extended to its present vastness. But is it just me, or did it sell more stuff back then? [Date originally estimated at 1975, updated to 1982 following comments below]

I would have thought the extension was later than that, because I'm sure I mind going in there just after it happened - the record department was just round to the right where the boxes of chocolates are now, wasn't it?

From memory, I think it was 1981 / 82 that we worked on the extension.

In 1982 Woolworth's advertised for 15 new members of staff when they put on the extension. I applied and got a job, and started on 11th Oct 1982. It was Mrs Wenzel who interviewed me, and Mr.Quaye was the manager.
