This photo of George Seatter is just how I remember him when I visited his house in a lane off Bridge Street when Mum and I were in town. My mum was called Millie Russell (nee Grieve)and she always visited Beanie and sometimes we saw Geordie too. Always a friendly welcome and a strong cup of tea too to help us on our way. My great aunt Lily Grieve was married to James Seatter (my great uncle) and lived in How, Egilsay in 1901. I think Beanie was James 2nd wife and George was her step son. We visited them a lot but being a youngster never knew the exact relationship.

Hi Barbara, Thanks for helping me place where George and Beanie fit into my family history. It will be just wonderful to see a photo of Beanie and James. I met James when he lived in Aberdeen in the 1960's. He was Secretary to the Orkney and Shetland Society and was retired from the police. I only now know he was a brother of George. I think they had two sisters also if I remember correctly - Kathy and Violet. I did meet Kathy when she lived near Perth with her husband. He looked after Clydesdale Horses in the area. I look forward to seeing your photo of Beanie (a lovely kind lady) and James.
