'The staff of the Castle Hotel, Kirkwall, probably around 1910. It is taken at the Castle Street entrance. The man wears a peaked cap with "Castle Hotel" on it. I suppose he would have been the "Boots", as in the statement often seen in old hotel adverts: "Boots awaits arrival of all steamers." And is the housekeeper having a problem with her blouse?'
