Forty years ago I had a boyfriend called Raymond Scott whose family lived in smithy cottage Finstown. I wonder if Geordie Garriock had previously lived there? Found this photo while browsing, have been reading a book about the Vikings and it reminded me of my visits to Orkney in the 1970's.

I came across your post on the Orkney communities website whilst scrolling for some information on my Dad, Raymond Scott.
Unfortunately he passed away in 2004 and I don’t have many pictures of him as a young man. I know this is a massive long shot, but do you happen to have any pictures of him when you knew him?

Wow......Charles & Eliza Scott were my great, great grandparents! We visit Orkney each year & have found Smithy Cottage & their gravestone in Finstown. I would love to learn more about my family.
