Comments:
We enjoyed a good day aboard this ship way back in the 1970s when the crew of the Stromness Lifeboat were invited for soft drinks.

Soft drinks!! Soft drinks!! I don't believe it, I just don't believe it.

Only soft drinks John. Coxswain Alf Sinclair didn't let us take anything stronger.

I was onboard when she visited Stromness Harbour in South Georgia during 1982.

Like Grant, I was involved down south in '82

I first saw her in 1967 when she came into Addu Atoll lagoon, Maldive Islands, presumably to refuel from the tanker hulk RFA Wave Victor anchored there. I was serving at RAF Gan at the time, but despite being the only real-life Stromnessian within a thousand-mile radius, wasn't lucky enough to get on board. I'll try to post a photo from back then.
