A more contemporary picture taken at midnight on June 21, but the year has been scratched out so date is again an estimate.
The walled garden enclosing the big tree in the earlier picture (picture #598) has now been removed and the street marches over it. I assume that the the single storey shops (now The Tree Shop and Christine Clarke's) were built at the same time as this happened.
A remarkable picture for midnight given the slow films Tom would have had to work with.

The single storey shops were built by Hossack's time as he mentions them and K in the O's was published 1900
