Quadrant in Winter

A Tom Kent picture of the Quadrant in Kirkwall on a snowy winter's day.

Date is a guess- any idea when these houses were built? I see the cathedral there, so it is post-1137...

Comments:
These houses were built for the soldiers returning from WWI. They are substantial stone-built houses, and look exactly the same today. The Council made the pitch in the middle of the Quadrant smaller in (I think) the mid-80s, as parking had started to prove a real problem to the residents.

My mother was born in the Quadrant in 1923 and still lives in the same house.
