Looking North from Cathedral Tower

Tom writes:
'I am attaching this photo which I took from the Cathedral tower about 1960 in connection with my comments regarding Marion's photo of Lennie's shop. The Clydesdale building is in the extreme left foreground and unfortunately in heavy shadow. However I have enhanced that portion and the frontage is quite clear showing a door and two windows. A name board across the front proclaims "Clydesdale and North Bank". Across Castle Street is W T Sinclair, drapers and the old Castle Hotel nest to it was then converted into flats You will also note, when compared to Wilson's photo on page 98 of "Shoal & Sheaf", that the Clydesdale building had been reduced to two stories and reroofed. The lower building to the left was TP & JL Low, solicitor's offices.
In comparing the two photos it is interesting to note the extent of new building and the reclamation of the Peedie Sea.'
