Date is a guess. Location unknown. Maybe Dounby Show Park, or Bignold. Boy on left wearing a sheath knife. He would be arrested nowadays.

Looks like the roof of the 'old' doctor's surgery in Dounby. The man in the foreground is Andrew Baikie, the merchant from Finstown.

On the pole 2nd from the right is Thorfinn Leslie and far right is Calvin Reid.
Spot the sheathie on the boy on the left with the red hoodie. You wouldn't get off with wearing one of them now.

Pretty sure the lady speaking to Andrew Baikie is the late Moll Sinclair sometime of The Glebe in Harray and Grandmother of Cameron Stout. Also think the 2 children standing by her are Karen Chalmers (nee Tait) and her brother Shaun but will have to verify.

Can anyone put names to picture #4715, taken at the same location and occasion as the above?

Yes this was the Dounby Show. The 3rd person on the pole from the left (being zonked) is myself Mervyn Hourston from Dounby. I recognise that home-knitted jumper. The 4th person on the pole from the left (doing the hitting) is Stuart Garson from Birsay/Sandwick. Not sure of the others in the picture but I do remember playing on the Zonk pole.

The lady speaking to Andrew Baikie is indeed the late Moll Sinclair from Garth cottage in Harray, my Grand-aunt.
