From the previous picture we skip forward 49 years to see Kenny Thomson with Billy Scollie in the Projection Room prior to dismantling the BTH Projectors in the Phoenix Cinema in July of this year. Billy died shortly after this picture was taken, before demolition started on the building where he worked from 1963- 1998, the latter years spent as manager maintaining a cinema in Orkney when we could so easily have lost one. This undoubtedly helped the New Phoenix to happen, where Billy worked until his death.
