In this picture taken in happier times for the Phoenix, painter Neil Isbister puts the final touches to the projection box windows.
It's remarkable how unchanged the building was, until earlier this year when everything was boarded up. It's a shame that it wasn't opened up for a last look before the demolition commenced.
