No merit with this picture whatsoever, but it might please someone out there to see inside a hut again.

I still can't believe that the OIC allowed folks to rent and live in these awful huts for as long as they did before they built some deent houses ! I had afriend who lived in one and I used to hate visiting her there! That was in the mid 70s

I know many people who lived in the Hatston camp huts. They all speak fondly of happy times and a real sense of community. It proves that todays social "problems" are nothing to do with deprivation and all about attitude.

I stayed at No.8 Hatston for over two years and it really was a great place to stay especially in the summer. We had some nice neighbours too. Don't believe all you hear about the place.

We stayed in hut No 11. Fond memories. We were all young and hopefull, and there was a nice feeling about the place. It is such a pity that there were so many huge hangars and sheds that made it so suitable for an industrial estate. I always though that the area would have been a super housing scheme. We loved wur hut.

We were at 12 Post Office houses in the early 70s. Good times, especially in summer.
