Nearly 30 years on, quite a lot of these folk are still on the go, and can be seen around the town or on the ferries. Jackie Bain was always friendly, down to earth and made you feel happy as he collected the fares. I think he lived across from Tulloch's shop in Pierowall, Westray, and used a motorbike.

I mind being on the Orcadia in, possibly, 1965, and getting Beatles bubblegum cards from the crew on the Orcadia. On the way to visiting Auntie Hannah in Stronsay.

Also missing that day was my Dad, Davie Kent, who sailed on the Orcadia from 1969 till the Thorfinn came.

Behind Captain Burgher is Kenny Bruce and seated next to him is Stan Burgher.

A few more names- after Albert is Gary Swanney, after Davie D,is Tam Drever, after Kenny N., is Kenny Bruce, and Hunter Jamieson, Fred Sinclair. After Captain B., is Stan Burgher, wae Eday connections. Added by Phil Brough.

Back row right hand side number 8 in is Edward Smith from Shetland now on the Hamnavoe, Stromness. Parka jackets were a big thing in them days
