This particular photo was, I believe,a newspaper picture taken on site at one of the big Kirkwall fires at this time.
Photographer probably was J.W.Sinclair.
From left to right David Fox, James Cooper, George Findlater, David Oddie(Firemaster)and Bob Johnstone.
Brave men everyone of them for tackling such big fires with such equipment,which was probably standard issue for that era.
