During WWII, WREN Edna (now Mrs Wighton) & pal Bunty were taken to the Standing Stones for Sunday Lunch by 2 pilots in a seaplane which they moored in the loch. After lunch they came out to find it had sunk in 18 inches of water - they'd left the sea-cocks open & were rather embarrassed filling in the Accident report...
