Year is approximate! I presume that the picture was taken somewhere at the Loons, Stromness as all the folk pictured are from that area.

The year must be about 1951-52. It was Ali's tattie planting day at Burnside. Note the stone posts in the fence.

It's Violet Towers (nee Ward)and I was always born to supervise (note hands in pocket). Who took the photograph? Elsie!!
