Pictured are our magnificent bronze medallists from the NatWest Island Games in Rhodes. Unfortunately, they missed the medal ceremony (not expecting to win one) but they are pictured here complete with their medals and the new Orkney flag. I can't speak highly enough of these lads. No excuses from them about the heat and conditions, they just got on with their gruelling event and performed brilliantly.
News of their achievement started to filter through around 10.30pm at the closing party and what a huge boost it was to the whole Orkney squad. I've never seen so many excited people when the team joined us later in the evening.
Congratulations to the lads and our other medallists who did Orkney proud in the toughest games ever.
