I think this is the Barnett class lifeboat, The Archibald and Alexander M Paterson which is mentioned in the description of the Stronsay Lifeboat Naming Ceremony, photo #2810.
The date is my best guess.

You are correct with the name, this boat served Stromness L/B Station from 1955 -1984 when it was replaced by an Arun type boat.

In 1960 a covered in wheelhouse was added to this boat.
Therefore this photo must have been taken between 1955 and 1960.
