An almost identical photo, obviously taken on the same occasion, is in the Herald's centenary supplement of 19 April 1960 and gives the names as: standing (l. to r.) J. Scott(?), R. Gibson, J. Twatt, M. Grieve, J. D. Keldie, D. Muir, T. Harcus; sitting T. Gibson, S. Harrold, William D. Peace, P. Walter Peace, James Flett, J. Dearness; in front H. Scott, J. Walls. See picture #28674 for an earlier group.

Having peered closely at the picture and darkened it, there is a date on the sheet of paper with 'Orkney Herald' on it. I think it may be 1898. In the census of 1901 there are two apprentice printers listed called Henry J. Scott, aged 18, and John D. Walls, aged 17. That would make them around 15 and 14 in 1898, which looks about right.
