Looks like Charlie Hourston of Beaquoy, middle row, 3rd from right. Is there no 'context' for this photo?

Douglas Cooper was also a POW in WW2. Perhaps that is the connection?

Charlie Hourston was another WW2 POW - captured during the German airborne invasion of Crete in 1941. If the above photo shows a group of ex-POWs it must be dated later than 1940.

Apologies re date. Of course this photo must have been taken in the `50s
