Sunday Divisions at HMS Sparrowhawk, March 1942

This was the only Orkney-based picture among a superb collection of WW2 aviation images emailed to me yesterday 13 Mar 17 by a friend in Canada. The girls look quite well wrapped-up; I hope the men have warm underwear. Gloves seem to be for officers only.
Taken almost exactly 75 years ago the photo supports my recollection that some of our heaviest snowfalls occur in March, but I haven't checked with official meteorological records.
