I first flew from Orkney in September 1949, by which time DC3 Dakotas had taken over from DH89 Dragon Rapides. Forty-odd years passed before I had the opportunity to be flown in one of these delightful aircraft. I posted a couple of pics on OIL.
The open passenger door is reflecting the sun very brightly in the photo above.
