Hello Brian sorry this has taken so long. I took this photo at Stronsay i believe it was July 1969
it looks like your boat. If it is the boat you are
interested in feel free to use the photo as you wish. If it is not the Pertelote anyone got any ideas, everybody will know the boat at its stern.

certainly looks like Pertelote owned by Hugh Birley who had Huip farm but I would have thought slightly later than 1969 though no doubt knowledgeable Stronsay folk will know better than me.

I would agree no earlier than 1969 she was only in Orkney for about a month oh her first visit.

We bought Pertelote from Hugh Birley around 1975 ish and took her to Norfolk. We sold her in 1978 when we moved to the Isle of Mull. What a glorious old girl. We were sad to sell her but life on Mull was to be one of hard work and a boat with an engine to transport tourists to see the puffins and whales. The photo is definitely of her.
