Photograph from Panhouse, Flotta. I have never been able to identify these three fellows. It may be of the Barnett boys (Peter aka Pierre, James and John) but it would have to be a very early photograph from around 1872 as James (middle) was born in 1857 and looks about 15. Or it could be members of the Hay family.

The faces have all been retouched, presumably by the original photographer. I wouldn't be sure these are good likenesses (and would hope they weren't, for the lads' sake).

I believe his wife was born on Hoy and her Mum may have info for you.
