Believe this to be a First World War German lantern.
Can anyone let me have some details?

I have 2 candlesticks the same but they are mounted on engine room telegraph bells and they came from the German fleet. They were in my Grandfathers house in Melsetter.

I'm mystified - a common enough state with me, particularly when viewing OIL. How does Willie manage to comment on a post before it's been posted? It's by no means the first time comments have cropped up along with a subject that hasn't previously appeared, at least not on my screen. I'd love to know how it's done.
Great photo by the way. Would that all artefacts were as well depicted (including by me).
[Err... beats me! But I can assure he posted his comment about 5 minutes after I approved the picture, so no time travel involved. Cheers

But it's how he got to SEE the picture so soon that's the mystery. Does Willie have life, but not as we know it? Wouldn't surprise me.
