Kirkwall BBs

The Kirkwall BBs, taken we think sometime between 1947-1952. The only name I have is Leslie Campbell (my uncle), fourth from the right on the back row. Me mother said Mosh Marwick is in the photo too, but I forgot to ask her where he is!

Can anyone help put names to faces?

Bit before my time in the Life Boys. Mosh will be second row up and third from the right,on the far right third row up on the right end is my cousin, not sure if it is Ernie or Brian Sommerville.first of the officers is Jim Scott of Scotts shoe shop.

Not the BBs, this is The First Kirkwall Company of The Life Boys. The officer on the left looks like a young Jim Scott. I'm sure a certain G D Partner will be able to identify most if not all of the boys and officers.

Is the facility to zoom in on these photos gone forever? It makes such a difference when it comes to looking at group photos like this.

I recognise twa three folk. Ronnie Muir, Freddie Rorie and Cecil Sinclair are three but it's not easy without the zoom.

[Hi Bruce -The big pictures facility is top of my list of things to get sorted when I have Council downtime, which should be in the next few weeks. Also more stuff related to the selection of parishes, and hopefully better navigation. Along with this will be a push to get the new picture numbers up again, more on this later - Steven]

That looks like Bill MacGillivray 5th from left in the second back row and his brother Hughie 3rd from left in the same row. Dave Tinch 6th from right in the back row? Brian Smith 4th from left in back row?
All guesswork and quite a memory test!!

Dear Lynn - I would dearly love to put a copy of this photo in my Family Tree as there are a few relatives in it. but I have read the Copyright conditions for the Orkney Image Library. Would you be kind enough to authorise me to use it? I would naturally acknowledge the source. I am in Oz so getting photographs is a bit difficult! Thank you.
