An unused Valentine's 'Colourtone' Series postcard showing Broad Street, circa 1930. The trees and cannon on the Kirk Green are things of the past but the facades of the buildings opposite are very much the same today as they were then. The green shop front extreme right was where photographer Tom Kent operated from - now part of The Longship premises.

I've a copy of this card on which it is described as from the "Aurochrome" series. After Tom Kent's shop I can make out George Flett, Watchmaker, and then W Williamson, who was also a watchmaker. By the 1926 edition of Peace's almanac at least, Williamson is gone and W Brough has a shop in Broad Street, so I would date this card before that, maybe even round about 1920 from what the woman just this side of the Post Office lane is wearing.

Since posting the above comment, I've found this picture on the St Andrew's University photo archive website, on which it states it was registered in 1923 (whatever "registered" means).
