Grieve family born at Fa'Doon, Rousay

July 1977 photo taken at the Albert Hotel.
The remaining Grieve family that were born at Fa'Doon, Rousay. My grandad Robert Grieve front left and their sister Hannah Gibson. Back L to R Jimmy and Hughie Grieve. Their brother John was killed in action during WW1 and his body never found, November 1917. They had a brother William and sisters Mary Ann and Isabella. Isabella died in her thirties from what was then known as creeping paralysis (Multiple Sclerosis)

Comments:
Lovely photograph.
I mind a visit with my Mum to Fa’doon way back in the early fifties. I don’t know the folk we visited but I suspect that it might heve been some of these. I know that the name Grieve was mentioned.
Just a coincidence, but my Grandfather owned the Albert Hotel at one time. Probably twenty years earlier.
On a more sombre note, my lovely wife has multiple sclerosis. She has had setbacks but is still with me after more that forty five years.
