An attempt today, 10 Mar 2013, to enhance picture #27065. Unfortunately there really aren't enough pixels to work with, and I doubt if there's a lot of detail in the original anyway. However, if it's important to have a better image, a high-resolution scan would be the place to start. I'd be willing to while away an idle hour tweaking it if anyone's interested.
The original photo seems to be on one of those cartes de visite that cropped up in comments some time ago - which would suggest the photographer was a professional. (So maybe there'll be some detail there after all.)

Many thanks Ian, but a high-res scan would be a waste of time unfortunately. There just isn't the detail.
