Rosa 'Canary Bird'. This is the earliest rose to bloom, in mid-May in Orkney, and it then produces flowers intermittently throughout the season. Probably a hybrid between R. hugonis and R. xanthina, both Chinese species, though the plant seems quite happy here. No scent, just beautiful flowers. Photo taken 24/5/12 in Finstown.
