Olearia semidentata

This shrub is known as Olearia semidentata in horticultural circles, although the Hillier manual suggests that it is Olearia 'Henry Travers' and is a hybrid with O. semidentata. Whatever the truth is, the plant is an absolute stunner when in full bloom in high summer (this photo was taken on 25/6/12, in Finstown) The plant likes sunny, but not too exposed situations, and dislikes areas suffering from frosts.

Comments:
I have several in Rendall, all grown from cuttings. Now huge and blocking my view to Tingwall and across to Rousay. They need pruning hard, but when I experimented on one, no new growth came and the wood is bare. Advice on pruning, please! Thank you.
