1953 Longhope Football Team - Coronation Cup Winners
Back row: left to right
Jim Baillie, David Gillespie, Bobby Gillespie, George Tait, Jimmy Groat, Ian Taylor,
Front row: Arnold Grieve, Mr Wilson a school teacher I was told, Jock Stout, music teacher could it be Mr Moncrieff? Basil Groat.
This photo is a replacement for picture #1765 which was very small. Mr Moncrieff and his family lived in the old house at North Row that was joined on to Big North Row before we moved there so maybe he would have played for Longhope.

That does not look like Ian Taylor Beryl, although he did play for the team when they were in the Orkney B league, I think in 1955/56

Sorry it's my dad's good pal Jim Taylor.
I do know Ian Taylor as well from his days working at Dounreay and I have a football photo somewhere from his days at Lyness. Thanks for pointing that out Fred.

Hi the man second from right on the front row is my Dad John Lamont who was a lighthouse keeper at Cantick Head 1950-1955. I have a copy of this photo and will be donating it to the Museum of Scottish lighthouses in Fraserburgh. Nice to show that keepers took part in the local community.
