Wellhead. 1992

At Orkney Builders, Hatston. The forklifts are lifting a cap for a well at Wellpark Gardens. It was approx 4 metres in diameter. I think the plan was to bottle water but it never came to fruition. The date is a guess.

Don't know Steven, but I remember as a small boy my father would take me for a walk or bike ride round the town and we'd often call in by Charlie Leslie (who used to own the gardens before D & H Glue) to fill a bottle of spring water. From memory the spring Charlie gave Dad access to was actually at the upper garden (now part of the council car park).

Another spring that Dad used to get drinking water from was at Picky.
