This is a snapshot from the Orkney Harbours weather station on Sandy Hill in South Ronaldsay, showing what the wind was upto at the weekend.
60 knots equals 69mph.

There was an earlier capture that read 93Knots around 0400hrs

Most of yesterday the same site was showing an update at 3am and the the 15 minute and the 30 minute gust wind speed was 97.3knots which is near enough 112mph. For those that dont know where Sandy Hill is, it is the small radar station in the South Parish of South Ronaldsay as you travel down to Burwick.
