Stimulated by Sandy Windwick's picture #25946 I've just taken this flash shot of my last Topcon (ca 1974) in ultra-close-up mode. A right-angle viewer with magnifier has been substituted for the removable pentaprism (a virtually unique Topcon feature), the standard (non-zoom) lens is reversed, and a double cable-release is added to fire the diaphragm in the lens an instant before firing the focal-plane shutter in the camera body. In this digital age it all just gathers dust - as you can plainly see - but it still works and I still have a sentimental attachment to it; indeed I have nothing today to match it in some respects.

I'm still trying to work out what this image has to do with Maps.

[Much less than it does to Miscellaneous, which is the next category down. My wandering optical mouse pointer strikes again... Steven]
