I mind that bike about the 50's, she was a good bike, Tess had a White bike, maybe a Vindec, I mind them both being ootside the school when Walter and Tess were courting......

Had another think, the bike Tess had might have been an Elswick, or a name like that.....and John my memory only works in wee bursts noo and again...

Excellent photo! Thanks. Dad would have been a bit over 66 at the time. It was a heavy old bike. My mother's bike was blue. Just been to check the make (it's in our garage) but can't see a label. Will check with the old lady herself.

My mother's bike was an Elswick - she got it in 1947 from her father 'fur wurkan in the hairvist'. May put up a photo. Dad's bike may have been a Rudge? Mike Macdonald in Kirkwall has it now.
