Lifeboat at Kirkwall Pier

LIFEBOAT. 1965
I am not sure which one - the shot is a bit out of focus. The date is a guess but the photo' was taken when they widened Kirkwall Pier in the 60s.

Sandy did you ever work?

Worked like a slave Billy. I did not spend a lot of time taking photos. This is my 762nd photo on this site. So, say and average of 1/200 sec. exposure time, that makes it about 3.81 seconds to take all these photographs. Not long at all. Just about as long as I took for my tea breaks.

Noo Noo Billy - I ken you're hivvan a fun but we really should all be very grateful to Sandy for recordin so much of Kirkwall workin life in an era that many of us paid little heed to how quickly things were changing. I do hope more folk will be encouraged by Sandy's efforts to contribute more of their own or relatives photos.
