this is an old newspaper cutting we found ,it reads;
iceberg seen floating off orkney ;.

Someone from 1924 has spelt Orkney wrong....

Looks OK to me. "Orkneys" is seen in many publications. See Hossacks 'Kirkwall in the Orkneys' and elsewhere.
