20 years down the line and the major changes are the ppe (we now have gold tunic / leggings) the windows - wood put in last year and the personnel apart from jim maguigan . shame we still have the dark blue lockers and the table in the middle

Yes, you're right Bruce, that's me in the photo. Wow, that seems so long ago now!!! The uniform then looks so basic, mind you at the time it also felt basic, today Firefighters have much cooler looking uniforms. Anyway, I'm living in Tain and am a full-time Martial Arts teacher ( www.kempo.co.uk ), it'd be nice to hear here what other Firefighters from that era are doing now... Is Dave still head of the Kirkwall Fire Station?

Hi Neil, i retired from the station last year. They finally found an exuse to get rid o me? Old age? All thats left is mostly fond memories.
